Dave Pettengill is an artist currently living and working in Rochester, NH. He has called New England for much of his life.  He attended Montserrat College of Art, holds an undergraduate degree in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, and a master’s degree from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His work spans many modes including, sculpture, assemblage, painting, photography, installation, and street art. Working in many modes allows the work to be modular and improvisational. The work blurs the lines between the natural and manmade world and draws its symbolism from history, environmentalism, consumer culture, philosophy, music, the hospitality industry, formalism, design, construction, semiotics, religion, art history, mathematics, music, biology, and other scientific disciplines. It presents moments where information coalesces, and then dissipates, abandoning narrative in favor of poetics. His work has been exhibited across the country, including NYC, Philadelphia, Chicago, LA, Portland, OR and ME.
